Change of vehicle ownership
To access all available functions and services, the driver of the vehicle must be registered with Polestar. When the vehicle changes owners, there are several steps that need to be carried out to disconnect the previous owner and give the new owner access.
Selling a vehicle
The following steps should be carried out by the previous owner:
Remove the link between the vehicle and the Polestar app.
Reset the user data – select to perform a factory reset in the vehicle.
Remove the vehicle from your Polestar ID (transfer ownership).
Purchasing a vehicle
The following steps should be carried out by the new owner:
Add the vehicle to your Polestar ID (claim ownership).
Make sure that a factory reset has been done.
Review and approve the terms and conditions for data collection in the vehicle's center display.
